Ninetytwo:: Official Selection in Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria and Italy!

Great News! This summer, the short film "Ninetytwo" directed by Martin Guido and produced by Mago Production, will be screened in three countries as part of the Official Selection of several International Film Festivals. It has also been chosen as part of an online competition where the shortfilm can be watched and voted.



To begin, from the 8th to 13th of June the Turkish city of Adana will receive the director, who has been invited to participate with his short at the 17th edition of "Adana Golden Boll Shortfilm Mediterranean Competition ". In parallel, the same week, from the 10th to 13th, the "Ninetytwo" will participate in the 6th edition of the "International Shortfilm Festival Detmold in Germany. From there it will fly to Bulgaria, specifically to the town of Balchik, where will be held the 8th edition of the "Film  Palace Festa" from the 19th to 26th of June, 2010.

Guido's film is also one of 278 works from 58 countries chosen to participate of the Internet Contest 2010 part of the International Festival "I've Seen Films Awards". This section consists of an online competition where the audience becomes the jury, choosing the winning work and other 20 finalists, which will be awarded and then projected in Milan during the festival days in October. Omar :: at En.Piezas 10!



From 5 to 9 of May, Madrid's Casa Encendida will celebrated the En.Piezas 2010 short film competition, which shows as every year the cinema in its contemporary sense, supporting young filmmakers to draw new ground in fiction, documentary , animation and short pieces of up to three minutes.
This time we are proud to announce that among the selected animated shorts is "Omar", which will be screened on Friday 7 at 20h at the audiovisual room. And on Saturday the 8th, at 20.30 h, will be the awards ceremony in the courtyard of the premises, at a ceremony presented by Ernesto Sevilla. For those who will be at the capital this weekend, here's the full schedule.

Dr.W:: Cinéglobe winner!


At Mago we started the week  at it's best, receiving our award-winning director Muyi Neira, who returned super accelerate after spending the weekend at the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). Was he visiting the Particle Accelerators? That too, but  most of all he was representing our team at the 2nd Cinéglobe International Scientific Shortfilm and Documentaries Festival, where the Dr.W: Clash of titans was awarded as the Best Shortfilm in the Scientific Documentary category.

The event, held at the CERN Globe of Science and Innovation, located in the Swiss town of Meyrin, featured a panel of audiovisual professionals and scientists of international renown, preceded by Mark Levinson (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Seven) . Among the 80 shortfilms and documentaries in competition, coming from 27 countries, the jury awarded three projects with the Golden Cinéglobe in the categories of General Fiction, Science Fiction and Scientific Documentary. The audience also elected their favorites in each category, awarding them with the Cinéglobe Audience Award.

This is the third award earned by the Dr.W at an international festival, and the first of this year as the winner of its category.Bravo Doctor!

Dr.W :: Winner in Mexico!



The 1st Animation Festival CutOut Fest 2009 which took place this past weekend in the city of Queretaro - Mexico, awarded Dr.W: Clash of titans as the 2nd Best Animated Short Film in the 'Narrative' category, highlighting this 3D animation work, which is part of the series created by Muyi Neira on development at Mago Production, between the 47 works that made up the official selection contestant.

The awards ceremony took place on Saturday 14 at the "The Factory", and there it was our partner Karina Letelier, from Mago Production, who traveled last week to Mexico invited by the festival as the winner of the Jury International Prize  with "Omar", animated work she co-direct voted as Best Spanish Shortfilm . Pleasing was her surprise when she have to climb back on stage to receive a second award representing the great team working on the development of Dr.W tv series. An achievement which Mago appreciate and celebrate loudly from this side of the world. Bravo!

Designed as a nonprofit event, this festivals main objective is to disseminate audiovisual animation in short formats, existing as a cultural vehicle, creating a space for exchanging ideas, knowledge and artistic purposes. This year,Spain was the guest country. This is because Catalonia is considered one of the most prolific in the world's cultural context.
In its first edition, the CutOut Festival register more than 90 works, were 47 animation shortfilms got into the official selection from which the jury chose three winners in each category (Narrative and Non-Narrative works), basing its ratings on parameters such as the use of technology, the originality of the idea , narration, audio design and creativity.

Dr. W runs for the prize at CutOut Fest '09!!




This november 'Dr. W' will be joining 'Omar' (International Jury Prize) at CutOut Fest 2009 as part of the Official Selection.

Mago Production's animated 3D series directed by Muyi Neira, will be running for one of the top three places of it's category at the upcoming short film animation festival that will take place at Querétaro Mexico.
