Impeccable winner!



The world started playing football for the world cup in South Africa while in Barcelona our boxer Impeccable was winning his home match in the Barcelona International Fict Festival: BCN Sports Film, receiving the award for the best animated film.

Twelve were the awarded works last Saturday night at the festival's closing, after two days of screening of an elaborated selection of the best audiovisual productions related to the sports in the world and its values. The event was held at the Museu Olimpic i de l'Esport in the presence of personalities like Prof. Ascani, Alejandro Blanco, Jordi Martí i Grau, Albert Solé, Romà Cuyàs, Jordi Pinto, among others.

Mago at the Non Stop Barcelona Animation!


This 13th and 14th of may do not miss the Non Stop Barcelona Animation, a whole event around the animation, which places it at the forefront of the cultural scene in Barcelona. ¿And how? Proposing a series of activities related to animation, from master classes to projections, which stimulate and sensitize the public at the same time affording the opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills to those who already have are developing on the profession.

On Friday 14th we'll be as guests offering a conference with part of the production team of Dr.W-animated series co-produced with TVC- where we'll tell you all about the development of the series from its conception to its realization. There will also be Xavi Romero and Oriol Sala-Patau from TVC, who will speak about the current situation of the projects co-produced by its broadcaster.

The event, organized by Apemanstudio, Cinenext, and Imago Association, in partnership with the Masters in Animation at the University Pompeu Fabra, will be held simultaneously in the auditorium of the university and the Casablanca theater in Barcelona. Mago's conference will be at the auditorium of the UPF. We hope to see you all there!

Cinema a la Platja '09 :: Season finale!



Last Thursday Mago called the end of the summer with the last session of Cinema a la Platja. Around 200 hundred people, between locals and visitors, enjoyed the best session of everybody`s favourite outdoors cinema, that crowned their second season finale with the projection of the best shortfilms of Cortocircuito Create 08 festival and Park Chan-Wook lovely film “I´m a cyborg but that´s ok”, winner of 2007 Sitges Festival.

Thursday 27/08 :: "I'm a cyborg but that´s ok" at the beach!

Tomorrow at San Sebastian's beach, Mago Production will celebrate the last day of Cinema a la Platja '09 screening the best shortfilms from Cortocircuito Create '08 Festival, and the fantastic piece of corean director Park Chan-Wook, "I´m a cyborg but that´s ok", best script winner at 2007 Sitges Fantastic Film Festival.

Synopsis "I´m a cyborg but that´s ok":
A young woman who believes she's a cyborg  is hospitalized in a mental institution where she eats nothing and talks to inanimate objects. She's Young-goon, granddaughter of a woman who thought she was a mouse. Young-goon comes to the attention of Il-sun, a ping-pong playing patient at the institution who makes it his goal to get her to eat. Will he succeed? Which way does sanity lie?
