MARIEL, THE MINI-SERIES BY VANVELVET

 

Mariel, a series fiction, is the brainchild of Vanvelvet. It´s co-produced by La Xarxa de Televisions Locals de Catalunya and Lacamara with Magoproduction´s collaboration. Also with the support of Parc Fluvial del Llobregat and Raquel Castellà´s historical advising, the skilled professional specialized in the industrial colonies of Catalonya, where the production is taking place.
The serie is Inspired by the works of masters of light as Sven Nykvist and his work on "The Hour of the Wolf" by Ingmar Bergman and the narration of "Institute Benjamenta" by the Brothers Quay, Mariel belongs to the  Noir-Drama genre and consists of 13 short chapters that will be beginning to shot next December. The project proposes a meeting between the classical and experimental, using the Super8 as a means and betting on a passionate and truly captivating story.

MAGOPRODUCTION presents ‘FISH·NET’ a shortfilm by Vanvelvet

"Not everything is the way it seems”, around this idea Vanvelvet, film director and head of the post production department in Mago, had built the little story called ‘Fish-net’, her most recent short film, shot in Super 8 and situated in the late 50’s. The shooting took place at a picturesque district of Barcelona full of colorful houses during the last days of autumn 2011.
After the naturalistic documentary ‘Mutism’ (2010), where Vanvelvet followed hunters of wild boars over the volcanic mountains of La Garotxa, she returns now to fiction with this short film. Soon more news about the premiere in Barcelona. Stay in touch !
